Winterland is a boutique ski lodge with 6 private rooms, all with ensuite bathroom and shower. Winterland Lodge is located at the centre of Nozawa Onsen Village, literally on the main corner just opposite the Chuo Bus Terminal as you walk toward the free Shinyu Pair Lift. The new Gyoza Bar is on the second floor of Winterland and the lodge rooms are on the third floor. Both overlook the main square with the Yokochi Hot Spring right across the street and a number of other onsens within a few minutes walk from Winterland Lodge. Guests who book out all 5 rooms have their own private lodge at the centre of one of Japan’s most traditional ski resorts and with super easy access to all the best bars, restaurants and shops in the village. The Shinyu Pair Lift is 240 metres away (4-5 minute walk) and the Yu Road is a 5-6 minute walk from Winterland Lodge.
Winterland Taproom brings is a casual, family-friendly Japanese fusion restaurant that is part gyoza bar, part Izakya (Japanese pub) and part Pacific Northwest taproom. Enjoy western or Japanese breakfasts, our popular Winterland Waffles and espresso to start the day. Winterland is the place to be for apres in the main village with, great happy hour specials. Come for our famous gyoza and stay for the 12 rotating taps of craft beer and cider. Our signature gyoza features locally-sourced nozawana made especially for Winterland in the gyoza capital of Japan – Utsunomiya. Pair various gyoza with your favorite craft beer or cider. Kids have their own space in the back corner including a kids bar, Lego wall and an assortment of books and toys.
